Are people going to speculate that Reyes will be in contention for this after saying that about Michigan? Say what about Michigan? I remember when Rosen left Michigan people were saying in the thread that Reyes might be considered. I honestly don’t know much about coaching but that’s what I saw.

Davis was successful as the Loyola men’s coach with 3 final fours and 2 national championships. Was the money really that much better at a bottom-tier big ten team? Must’ve been or I don’t understand why he moved in the first place. Men's game brings in less money. Being in a small conference brings in less money. Women's game pays a lot better than the Men's game. Big Ten is Big Ten, even a badly funded Big Ten team is better funded that a small Catholic school. The athletic department is bigger in a Big Ten schools and the coffers are much bigger, even if you aren't getting the funds, the potential is always there.

Lindsey Behonick is the first and only call I'm making if I'm that AD. OK, sure. That AD has shown such incredibly good judgement already ...

Must’ve been or I don’t understand why he moved in the first place. Northwestern women pays more than Loyola men? Neither is paid like a foootball coach and he lives in relatively expensive Chicago metro. Maybe he was just trying to (1) increase financial security, and/or (2) take on a new challenge. He won championships at Loyola so there was nothing left to do that he hadn't done before. Northwestern head coach was a good gig at a great school in a great conference and he didn't even have to move. I see why he did it.

I’m not at all going to be surprised to see Reyes as the new coach at Northwestern and that he will bring with him an associate head coach who is currently in a similar position in the conference. Seems like they could get a two for one deal.

Lindsey Behonick is the first and only call I'm making if I'm that AD. Why would this be your first call? I was really impressed by how much she developed OSU this season, particularly their players - went from bottom cellar dwellers to sharing the cellar this season, but she eventually got them cruising to an insane beat down of Washington and the upset of Arizona State. She can coach. IMO, you need someone to develop players at NW until you start to get top recruits which could take a while. Her experience at Pitt speaks for itself. High-level academics (granted not as high as NW), but for those who don't know, Pitt specializes in pre-med and science degrees and their med school acceptance rate is like 4-5x the national average. She's used to working with STUDENT athletes which is def a requirement at Pitt, instead of dealing with athletic people who happen to be students like at most other P5's. Last point - yes, it's unpopular to go after a coach who just moved a year ago. But, two things: 1) Dawn Plitzuweit was a huge pick up for West Virginia in WBB. Got them to their first NCAA tourney in forever. Leaves after one season to go back to the Midwest an takes the Minnesota opening. Yes, that's strange -- but she proved her coaching style translated to P5, and realized recruiting to Morgantown is impossible. Back to a metro she goes. Same thing here for Behonick. Leaves to go to Oregon State, shows vast improvement throughout the season, and is now left conferenceless. Circumstances matter. 2) The PAC-12 conference dissolved. Mountain West has announced that OSU and WSU will each play 6 football games against MW teams next year while they figure out their conference situation, and ESPN has announced that similar deals for other sports will likely follow shortly. I think it makes all the sense in the world to go after a young head coach with final four exp as an assistant who just found out that she's been kicked out of the P5 and relegated to the MW. It makes all the sense in the world for them to pursue her and for her to interview for the job IMO.
