Not crazy about the 20 game schedule.. but it is what it is and I get it. I do like the USC Schedule. Good that Rutgers and Iowa get each other twice.

They can have the 'play twice' West Coast sub-division for now and for next year, but that can't have that on-goingly beyond that, can they?
To me, it makes those four teams feel like not-quite full members of the conference.

I'm guessing USC/UCLA will travel three times: -Maryland/Rutgers in the same trip -Nebraska/Iowa in the same trip -Purdue/Illinois/Northwestern all in one trip.. but how this gets scheduled is interesting. I wonder if the far trips (coast--coast, i.e USC at Rutgers, Penn State at UCLA, etc.) will be scheduled earlier or mid-season rather than late in the season.

To me, it looks like most teams got a top tier, middle tier, and bottom tier game home and away all while protecting travel. There are some exceptions, but this looks fairly spot on. As the conference merges the west coast teams playing each other and feeling like they are getting a game from 3 tiers may be less likely.

To me, it makes those four teams feel like not-quite full members of the conference. I don't really mind it. But I think those 3 games should become 'optional' to keep historic rivalries or shouldn't count towards conference standings.

Three-team trip: Wednesday, Friday-Saturday; or maybe Saturday-Sunday? Wednesday night BTN broadcasts are a regular thing.

I don’t think any team is playing 3 matches in a week. It will probably be a home/away week with a Wednesday and Sunday match.

I understand that a west coast team might not want to play three matches during a five/six day trip. But they might choose that as opposed to adding a fourth west-to-east trip to their year. We'll see.

It’s possible a team stays on the road after a Sunday match, play Wednesday, then come home.
Actually sounds like a great opportunity for those random 11am Kids Matches on a Wednesday where local schools do field trips to a volleyball match like some Big East and AAC schools have done

I don't think any 'current' B1G teams are going to play 11 AM Wednesday home matches. I thought this was the “Grow the Game” part of the country. Would be an awesome opportunity for kids whose parents wouldn’t or couldn’t ever take them to a collegiate volleyball game. Anyway, in the highly competitive Big Ten, I get it, I wouldn’t like the idea of an 11am home match on a Wednesday to count towards conference standing. It’s like wanting a better opponent to play Nebraska *outdoors*. But still, I think it’s a cool idea. I do think teams staying on the road after a Sunday match and playing a Wednesday night match is still a real possibility.
