In the LATVIA-AUSTRIA qualifier Travis mentioned some kind of statistical tool that had compiled stats from the entire 2023 season. He mentioned Tina Graudina at 53% kills in transition - and a 70% side-out. Possibly the FIVB kill percentage method? Without deducting errors? Where can somebody see this stat compilation ?

Explain to me like I’m 5 years old- how do B Sweat and a high schooler have enough entry points for an E16 qualifier? Is there a max time limit for injury points?

Scott in Mexico left Mel and Pavs in a bad spot, Mel has actually spoken about this in an interview. That was the start of the downfall of that team. It also wasn't at all out of nowhere that the split happened, you can pretty much hear its happening when they won the Can am games. Bottom line the end was not a surprise to anyone... hell it was speculated here a long time, I am sure there was some hurt feelings as there almost always is with any break up in anything. Emily Stockman mentioned that USAV put Davenport on salary around the time he split with Mel and Pavs. Perhaps there were issues that led him to seek out another position, or perhaps USAV essentially bought out the brains behind April and Alix's biggest rival just before the Olympics. Then they won gold, yay. Why isn’t TKN’s coach on the list of American beach coaches? usavolleyball.org/beach-national-team/#tab2

If Anouk/Joanna are anywhere near back to their normal selves, AP/Duda's pool has 4 teams better than the second best team in MHB's group. Great draw for Canada

Looks as if the Aussie ladies are there just to get another competition under their belts for the twelve they need. They did the same with a Future competition in Australia last year. I don't know if it's injury or just an internal disagreement - as they aren't the most harmonious team on tour. (Similar to Sophie and Sarah, but I doubt they would fly that far if there was internal discord - likely injury.)

That was the best pool match on the schedule. Shoot They did the same with a Future competition in Australia last week. Disappointing for the fans. Apparently Taliqua is injured but why are they entering tournaments if one or both aren't fit enough to compete? They should be fined for signing up and forfeiting just to hit their quota. It's disappointing for a team on the qualifier list and a team on the reserves list as well.

TKN lose in 3 ;(
Taryn was too casual in the third. They could've won but Italy wanted it more.

Seems like a loophole in the rules if they can just show up and forfeit, and it still counts as a finish toward their Olympic 12. It’s gonna hurt their entry points though. Might be enough to drop them down into the qualifier for the next Elite 16s.

Might be enough to drop them down into the qualifier for the next Elite 16s. what can they do. Not play/enter and not go to Paris because they didn’t get enough points. It’s a system. And a process. My question is how many times can a team do that and not be heavily penalised or refused an entry? What’s the nitty gritty on the regulations. NED did the same to qualify for world champs it happens. Unfair to fans but not players who are fulfilling the remit and legislation. Everyone will adapt as the rules will to try and avoid this. Having more events to qualify means a team has to compete in both years relatively successfully to qualify (1999/2000 two Czech teams hardly played ahead of Sydney but qualified in 99. More or less) The solution keeps evolving…?

Instead of focusing on the stupid Olympic qualification system, focus on putting on a product that fans want to see. Is this the Aussies fault? No they are gaming the system in a way they know will be permitted. That said, what should happen is that whoever is in charge of the tour should step in and suspend them for a couple of months, and dock all their entry points to send a message.
