Some interesting infos revealed by the CEO:
Income in 2023 was ~1.4 million Euros. The organizers made a loss of 400,000 Euros. The goal is to achieve a balanced result this year.

I bet they could. Just add a little bit more show and contests like Europe does.

Off topic. Is there a certain metro area in Germany where that has a significant beach volleyball community where you can just show up and play? I get to Frankfurt every so often and was looking at that. I remember bars near the Rhine having courts but I don't see them any longer.

I saw some courts in Dusseldorf near the Soccer Stadium last time I was there (¿5? years ago), no Idea if you can just show up and play (there was no one when I passed by, but it was quite early, iirc). I think Hamburg has also some courts and some clubs, but never been there myself. And I'd bet there is something along the coast during the summer.

IMHO they do lots of things right, venues, marketing, streaming, services for players and spectators, would be great if they can ended up, at least, without loss

Just showing up to play seems like the most un-German thing ever.

If I was reading correctly in another thread they (this German league) actually allow free admission but you have to give up your seat to anyone who bought a ticket for it. I think that's a pretty good idea to get butts in the seats as some people wouldn't bother or couldn't afford to go if they had to pay, but might go spectate and maybe buy some concessions if admission was free.
I don't know how well this system would work with entitled Americans though (as an entitled American).

When I was stationed in Giebelstadt in the early 90s I would go up to Würzburg and play at one of the public outdoor Schwimmbads and play w the locals.
