Really sorry for Anders. I really appreciate his openess about this, though. In this sport we fans are often left wondering why X team isn't playing and speculating about possible injuries.

Yikes. Foot injuries can take a while to heal (is it foot or ankle?). Looks like they need one more finish to qualify for Paris. Also appreciate his willingness to share.

Also appreciate his willingness to share. you can see it in the second picture. Looks like the metatarsal is fractured. I just happened to injure my foot in the same spot last week playing beach volleyball and now I'm wondering if my bone is fractured too. There are so many little bones and tendoms etc. in your feet that can be fractured/injured. Sometimes you don't even think it's a serious injury until x-ray shows the damage. fingers crossed that Anders will be back to 100% by summer

what a bummer
so enough time to recover and get back to 100% by the Olympics? my doc told me that a fracture takes about 6 weeks to heal. I've even heard less. So Anders should be ready to play again in May. I also believe that a clean fracture in many cases is actually a much less complicated injury than a torn ligament for example. The bone heals and that's it, you're a 100% again and good to go. Whereas other kinds of injury can take years to fully heal or never completely heal at all. Obviously I don't know though if Anders only has a fractured bone or other injuries too.

I shattered a toe bone (in hydrolics) last fall…and it took a while to heal.

He twisted his ankle due to fracturing his toe?
Double injury. Ouch.

TKN podcast recently. They were informed by USAVB they had qualified as their Finals appearance counts as an event even though they didn’t score ranking points. Based on this they are listed as qualified. I am just digging a little more. fivb.12ndr.at/olympic-ranking/men

They are already qualified but could still increase their point total. A good reminder that you should always look out for getting your minimum participations in early.

fyi that FIVB site does not show the finishes of Boermans / de Groot for Tepic or La Paz. They have 8, but FIVB only shows 6.

Yikes. Foot injuries can take a while to heal (is it foot or ankle?). Looks like they need one more finish to qualify for Paris. Also appreciate his willingness to share. It's a fifth metatarsal fracture...the bone above the pinky toe... which can happen from twisting your ankle. He said they will pin the bone fragments back together, and that was apparently an option to speed up the healing. Yes, bones can heal quicker than a bunch of torn ligaments! The tricky thing is keeping that leg in shape if he's non weight bearing for a few weeks, but I'm sure he's got plans for that. Speedy healing!!
