Sara Lozo's setter at Ageo this season (last season it's mostly Yamazaki). Koyomi Iwasaki (34) or Koyomi Tominaga before marriage. She is the 2nd setter of Japan in 2018 World Championship alongside Tashiro, and in 2017 and earlier tournaments as substitute to Miya Sato, iirc. She had a baby in 2021 but last year reclaimed the starting setter position again in Ageo, and back at NT. She played with Japan Team B last year as main setter for Asian Games and back in the final 3 setters this year together with Seki and Matsui. She would likely be in the final roster with Seki.

wait I remember liking lozos setter the few times I watched I like her the most among the three, but we have yet to see her connection with the current roster since she haven't played with most of them. She did well with Ageo this season and good performance also with Team B at Asian Games last year. She's taller than Seki/Matsui and definitely more calm in crucial situations vs Seki

What happened to Aki Momii? She went to the last Olympics, right? I know she plays for JT Marvelous, but does she just not start anymore?

According to Volleybox, she retired at the end of this season. But she was an elite 20 year old setter and then disappeared from NT? Yeah, I remember right after Rio there was some drama about the new coach leaving her home. Then I think I forgot about her a bit. When I searched it, I found this post from Volleywood from 2017: HARUKA MIYA%*$#A'S CAREER WITH JAPAN IS HEADING IN THE WRONG DIRECTION. Despite being one of the most experienced setters, her career with the national team is NOT looking good since Coach Kumi Nakada took over. COACH NAKADA DID IT AGAIN: The 23 year old setter missed the Asian Champs and now she is going to miss another major tourney -The Grand Champions Cup - which starts Monday. Coach Nakada chose Koyomi Tominaga and Miya Sato instead. FYI: Sarina Koga is NOT on the team due to a minor injury. WORLD GRAND CHAMPIONS CUP: Joining Japan in the 6 team tourney are reigning European champions Russia, defending champions Brazil, reigning world champions USA, Olympic champions China and wild card winner Korea.

What happened to Aki Momii? She went to the last Olympics, right? I know she plays for JT Marvelous, but does she just not start anymore? She was the setter of Team B at Asian Championship August last year, but practically missed the whole club season after that. She was not even dressed in almost all the matches where she did not play, so it's not like she's benched. I would assume she was not in good physical condition during the season. I'll check tomorrow's tournament if she'll play. She is leaving JT after this week's tournament, and no announcement yet of next club.
