Probably not going to affect her beach plans, but Sponcil seems to have lost her starting libero spot with the GR Rise, and her replacement played really well last night in a key win as the team battles for a playoff berth in the PVF. Hate to hear that. Had her play declined? Because all of the reports that I had read thus far seem to indicate that she was playing pretty well. Don't feel sorry for her, this is probably the best thing. Now she gets all the hugging, matching hair ties, etc. of being on a team, just like high school - which is what she wanted - and no pressure to actually compete and win - which is what she ran away from. Plus more time for praying

Plus more time for praying I’m both a fan of hers and fellow believer. To me she didn’t lack competitiveness. If anything I took it as her being frustrated that partner dynamics kept her from getting to the level she wanted to be at. But admittedly I didn’t read/listen to every interview she’s spoke on the move to indoor. Just following from afar.

Plus more time for praying G2 sometimes you crack me up. But, then again, there's not a lot do during the Forfeit Fest waiting for more volleyball tonight.

Its certainly possible but she went from the highest level of a sport in a role where she had a ton of individual responsibility for whether her team won and lost to being the 5th or 6th most important player on a team in a 4th tier league. Her stated reason for doing so was she missed the comradery of indoor.

Beach volleyball is nothing more than aniche sport. I'm surprised people stull waste their time, money, and energy into playing at that level.
If anything she is probably living at half the cost of living in Michigan vs california

Great opportunity for Cory. Will be a big change from Alison coming from Billy who’s a lot more consistent.

Will Stafford Slick dust off the googles this year considering the tour is coming through San Diego? I’m still unsure of how the team format is supposed to work.
Also after watching the Houston AVP Next tournament I’ll be curious to see who the next young player to take a step will be. Hurst and Bicko looked awesome. So did Basey and Ierna.

If anything she is probably living at half the cost of living in Michigan vs california yes, esp. this year that is clear. If sponsorships were lucrative, that would be another issue, but from everyone's anecdotal reports, sponsorships are worth next to nothing on the men's side. One wonders what Partain is going to do after finishing, likely, 5th, with a stretch goal of 3rd, in Paris. My guess is to concentrate on a business career, and play Beach for fun, fitness and entertainment purposes.
It's interesting that while Miles/Andy hit a peak with Montreal last August, Boermans/de Groot and Perusic/Schweiner have surpassed them since, and the Cubans have become a medal threat nobody saw coming. I am really curious which Menesh we get in Tepic. This extra data point will tell a lot. it would be quite welcome to see a Menesh in the form of their Montreal Silver.

He talked about going to LA'28. I don't think money is an issue for him. I think he'll call it quits when god tells him to.

Interesting, I assumed that Seain was referring to Harrison when he said Evan made THE pickup and was praising Harrison as someone to watch but perhaps he was speaking of Alison instead. Curious if Evan will keep trying to chip away internationally with Wyatt or someone else. I also saw enough of Wyatt to think he’s got to be somewhat coveted as a pickup by lower end main draw defenders. He has some promise. Looks better than a Quali guy.

Wyatt is still a force with a cannon jump serve

That "medal threat" has lost to the 9th best Brazilian team, Treo, the Bellos, Evandro x 2, and Krattinger/Beer while beating no team better than Pedro/Guto in 4 events this year. (Which is easily the best year of their career)
