The writer compares 2011 to 2023, but ignores that NPR hit its ratings peak in 2017. (Also ratings are still higher now than they were in 2011)
Why are it's ratings down from it's peak at 2017? Biden won in 2020. Sadly, outrage politics drives ratings on both sides. Other liberal-leaning stations have suffered similar ratings drops from when Trump was President.
But yes, NPR is less trusted among Conservatives as a source, I have a lot of theories as to why Conservatives distrust mainstream media at a much higher rate than Liberals (and it's not the same as his), but that's another topic altogether I think.

Sorry I don’t open blind links. What is it about? What’s the main idea of the article?

I do question how NPR can have vigorous discussions surrounding the verity of their news reports when there's no one of a different opinion or political leaning in their newsroom.

I would consider it a "connected tangent" if you're willing to share. Or you could send me a private message. I am curious as to your view.

That is an assumption on your part, yes? That would be a no when there’s absolutely no one on their staff as a Republican. Geez, pay the !!!!###$$$!!! attention.

Well of course they strongly disagree, they believe that influencing the public the way they do makes them somehow honorable.

NPR is, pretty bluntly, biased in favor of more highly educated people. It just so happens that the "blue/red" support spectrum in the US also tilts with respect to education.
I have never thought NPR is overtly politically biased -- certainly not like FOX or MSNBC. However, they definitely aim their content toward college-educated and more urban/professional audiences. So, for example, on NPR it is just taken for granted that climate change is real and serious. For most scientifically educated people, that's an unpolitical statement of reality, but among MAGA supporters that is a highly politicized opinion.

If your so-called highly educated people are as dumb as you sometimes then you really do have a problem. 83% of the staff was Democrat and zero were Republican employees. They purposely squelch to stories because it might help Donald Trump. They ran with anything Adam Schiff promoted because they knew that was the way to influence the public including the Russian hoax. They are rotten to the core and should never call themselves journalists. And you defending them makes you look like an idiot.
