I don't get how Grand Canyon gets in (if UCLA wins the MPSF) over Irvine when the anteaters beat them on a natural Court.

In a future H2H on a neutral court, I'd take UCI over GCU. At the Outrigger, UCI had another level at crunch time that GCU couldn't match. But the at-large criteria are more focused on how teams stacked up against the field over the season. For that for now, advantage GCU.

if it's one match out of 25 or so, it really shouldn't have all that much more significance unless it comes down to it being too close

Irvine has 8 losses. GCU has played a very solid road heavy schedule

yeah, GCU does not have a top 5 win

in terms of overall resume, GCU is better

for any one match, kind of depends on which Irvine team shows up, lol
