Kamilla Cardoso and Angel Reese will be teaming up in Chicago. The first thing Angel said when she was interviewed was how excited she is to play with Kamilla.

Liz Kitley went #24 overall to Vegas. Candace Parker only signed a one year contract this year so she may be the Candace Parker replacement once she is healthy.

This, for me, was one of the more interesting stories of the draft. From conference rivals to teammates just like that! doesn't that sort of thing happen fairly often when athletes move from college to pro? Especially in football, with the larger roster sizes. Though the very quick turnaround (NCAA tournament wraps up in early April, followed by the WNBA draft in mid April, then the WNBA season starting in May) seems rather unique to the WNBA.

The biggest shock is just how badly they are paid. I realize they don’t have the audience right now but holy cow. What a difference from the NBA.

To some degree yes, but in this particular case you have to keep in mind the ker-fuffle that happened between the two teams towards the end of the conference finals game and Mulkey’s comment about wishing Cardoso would’ve pushed Reese and seen what would happen. Both women were consummate professionals and expressed excitement over being teammates. It’s just interesting to see how things can change in what, six weeks or so?
