It would be interesting to see the breakdown across the board. Multiple votes allowed, because some of you have multiple teams that you follow in your area who might do different things.

Assume a "spirit squad" is cheerleaders, which we don't have at Minnesota, other than Goldy.
The pep band is there probably 67-75% of the time.

Assume a "spirit squad" is cheerleaders, which we don't have at Minnesota, other than Goldy. The pep band is there probably 67-75% of the time. Texas has both cheerleaders and a spirit (pom) squad. Shoot, then there’s the Hellraisers, the Silver Spurs, and Texas Cowboys. And every now and then the swim team for good measure. The easiest way to tell the pom squad is they wear chaps. Well, and they have poms. But the chaps are extremely distinctive and unique. But many schools have both cheerleaders and a spirit squad. I think of the USC Song Girls as probably the most famous.
