What was the logistics between having so little time between the red-white and season opener? I donāt think itās ever been this short before between them. Also, I can't remember a real season opener on a Tuesday before? Ā I thought historically all teams started first season match on a Friday as part of a weekend tournament. NCAA gave these four teams an exemption to compete before the season starts Friday August 30. Everyone else is limited to exhibition matches against nearby opponents this week. I remember when it was first announced the press release said the AVCA hosted a similar annual event back in the 90s, so I guess itās being revived. Wonder which teams will get to play early next year.

This just feels wrong to me. There is something kinda fun of ALL teams starting their season on the same day (or at least being able to). I definitely think these showcase teams should play each other in the non-conference, but why does it have to be before the rest of the country gets to play? It's to start the season with a promotional event to get people interested in going to the final four. 2 top 10 teams in the state where the final four will be and 2 top 10 teams that sell out arenas. It's a calculated move to get butts in seats come December. And 20 years ago, wasn't this an annual thing? Edit: and having it before other games keeps other games from detracting viewers. and games opposite the US Open instead of games opposite CFB is much more attractive to open the season.

The last time Nebraska and Kentucky met, this happened. Such an iconic rally, but that challenge totally showed the ball was down on Lexi's pancake š

FYI, on the match thread for the second half of the doubleheader, 25or624 is saying they'll be using the Olympic line judging system. Yay!

I just remembered that without transfers out of the program UK would have had Deleye, Skinner, Goetzinger, Fischer, Rutherford, Grome this yearā¦ this is really a game between a team that has only gotten better from the portal vs one that has only been devastated by it

I am so excited!
It's going to be my first in person regular season game! I might as well take advantage of my flight attendant benefits and I had the days off to go so why not!

I think that would be a reason for the scrimmage and the first game being so close to one another.

It was one of The Husker-related sites and had the most detail I could find. Copying wasn't allowed on that site and I couldn't find it again [that's Google for you], but DBK mentioned it during her press Q&A.

Looking forward to seeing what Kentucky shows us, not sold on them being top 10 material yet but they have a strong core of Grome, Beavin, and DeLeye to build around.

The FIVB has used Hawk-Eye as its sole Platinum homologated video challenge provider for volleyball since the 2021/2022 season. For the 2024 Paris Olympics, the FIVB partnered with Hawk-Eye and Bolt6 to integrate advanced technology into the competition. VNL and PVF use bolt 6. Fyi: bolt6 is hawkeye engineers who went out on there own.
