Cougs up 2 sets to 1. That 3rd set they got really behind but came back on some good serving runs. Left pins are struggling to keep their errors down.

WSU lose 2-3 to Wyoming. Going to have to clean up their hitting errors moving forward.

Houston beat Omaha 3-2.
I wish Omaha could get over the hump against some of these bigger teams, but hopefully this is a sign they're more competitive in the non-conference this season. Stats were pretty even, a few too many Maverick mistakes, but you gotta go for it against a power conference team.

Wyoming sweep Omaha in a tight game led by Winter and Mazzocca with 9 kills each.
Earlier Houston got past WSU in 4. WSU actually played better in that match than they did vs Wyoming.
Tomorrow Omaha and WSU try to end the tournament salvaging a win. The other starts the season 0-3.

Omaha seems to always have the toughest non-con in the Summit League. Just brutal this year. How much of that relates to opponents seeking out RPI-building mid-major matches, and how much of it is Buttermore just wanting that kind of schedule?
Not every coach wants to do it that way. You can potentially hurt your team’s confidence a little bit, although Buttermore has had a good history of his teams bouncing back from that.

After losing a close 5 setter on Friday, WSU close out a tough 5 setter today vs Omaha in a reverse sweep. Cougs led by Brustad with 18 kills. Main difference between the 2 was that Cougs blocked better at the net.
