Ok what to watch for tonight: Is Wisconsin healthy? presume yes!
UL usually starts in R2 (setter in 6) and UW starts in R2 (setter in 6) ( starting positions based on last years tactics) : UL and UW serves' or receives' in R2 to start every game: For Wisconsin this starts Smrek in MF ((3) and Franklin in LF (4): but this was in the 6-2 with the 5-1 this year Franklin as the OH1 tradition says she is next to setter. Which would mean to start Franklin in LF(4) your setter would start in R5 (pos 3 MF)and put Smrek or her back row sub in MB (6). Or maybe we see Franklin Move to the OH2 Strat setter in MB Ro2 and smirk in MF (3). because smirk will in all probability not play back row having Franklin in the OH2 position allows her to attack out of the back row. Because OH2 is next to Smrek. It kind of allows Franklin to be the Primary Back row attacker instead of an Opposite having that job. Texas did this last year with Skinner: she started in LF (4) and setter in MB. this put Skinner next to the Texas Opposite and let her take over all the back row hitting responsibilities.
when opposite subbed out for D. Its a good tactic with HS and Club and college with plenty of subs for a poor defensive Opposite to have best OH next to Opposite so they can be the back row attacker with setter from row and nom opposite.
--For UL the always in Ro2 with Debeer following setter; traditional position for OH1 Super in OH2 in LF (4); Last year a 5-1; Maybe they go 6-2? to get big on Franklin use on of there bigger MH's as an Opposite? compared to Wisconsin - Louisville is on small side. count on execution and rally ball to win matches: plus a home game. I am looking forward to tactical match ups. 5-1 on 5-1 Or 6-2 on 5-1? Wisconsin healthy in 3 or 4. Injuries: and unusual line-up; Louisville 4/5!!

If Louisville goes with a 6-2 (and I think it's actually likely), they'll almost certainly use Robins and Maldonado for the right side, rather than pull a middle over. |

Will Fire-Bringer set the ball high enough? I've heard complaints from Dunning and Hambly, freshman setters usually struggle early on connecting with elite college hitters.

Will Fire-Bringer set the ball high enough? I've heard complaints from Dunning and Hambly, freshman setters usually struggle early on connecting with elite college hitters. Only one way to find out. |

Bolt6 cost 180,000 to purchase one system according to PVF. I dont see any numbers for Hawk-eye. yikes! That's a lot of money. Can they be moved from venue to venue? They used it in Van Andel arena with the GR Rise in an arena that was also hosting hockey and D league basketball and concerts so it had to be taken down after each match. Sometimes a hockey game was the next day. |
