AZ closes it out in 4 led by Hodge with 14 kills. Tucker quietly went about her business cleanly with nice blocking numbers too.

Wilson hit negative 857? I- This does not surprise me Wilson had a bad first set and was subbed out. Who knows if she could have turned it around or not.

This does not surprise me Wilson had a bad first set and was subbed out. Who knows if she could have turned it around or not. Wilson is erratic. When she is on, she is really good. When she is off, she is wayyyyyy off. There is no happy medium at this point. I wouldn't be surprised if she hit .500+ in their next match. It's just who she is.

IMO Hodge and Sofia could have been one of the better pin tandems in the Pac 12 but they were never consistent, so nobody cared. Hopefully Carlie can break that mold.

Good thing Jaelyn Hodge had a better match today because Jordan Wilson really, really struggled. Here's what Jae, Journey Tucker, and Rita had to say after the match.

Tied at 17s in the first. Interesting that Heath got the start at setting today.

AV snuck out a close first set vs Tennesse St, 25-22 led by Hodge with 6 kills. Wilson is playing better today again and has 5 kills too, as does Cisneros.

Tennessee St. is scrappy. I’m loving the energy and fire they play with.

Game recap vs Tennessee State with comments by Rita, Jordan Wilson, and Kiari Robey. Nice to get the sweep, but those service errors are piling up early on. I asked Rita why Jaelyn was removed from the match. She's fine, to make it short. Both setters played as did all 4 middles. Rita did what she has been doing all weekend with her setters. She started one setter, let her play for about half the match, then pulled her and let the other one play the rest of the way. This time, Ana got the nod first and Avery finished it out.
