They outplayed us by a lot. Definitely a lot to work on on our side, but they straight up were the better team by far.

This rotating-setters thing is messing with the hitters' consistency, I think.

Minnesota had 59 kills hitting .211 to Texas' 56 kills hitting .183.

Texas had the advantage in digs with 87-82 but Minnesota held the blocking advantage 14-10. The Gophers survived their 14 service errors and offset it with 7 aces. Texas went 4 aces against 8 errors.

Julia Hanson led the Gophers with 19 kills hitting .230 while chipping in 13 digs. Wucherer had 12 kills hitting .150.

Minatee went 9-1-14 hitting .571 and was in on 6 blocks. Z had 22 digs while Shaff had 17 digs and 44 assists.

Texas was led by Madi with 19 kills hitting .164 and 12 digs. Jenna went 13-7-42 hitting .143 and had 19 digs. Halter (21 digs) and Keonilei (17 digs) were great on defense for the Longhorns.

So proud of Minnesota! GO GOPHERS!

I swear this whole Texas/Wisconsin/Stanford/Minnesota tournament has me shaking my head.

Is Shaff ever in the conversation for future NT appearances? I don’t really follow Minnesota boards but I am officially a fan of hers after tonight. She put on a defensive clinic tonight, and all other aspects of her game seemed excellent to the eye test (haven’t seen stats). Has she been injury prone? Inconsistent? Why don’t I hear about her more? (Or is this me living under a rock, which is entirely possible)
