I realize that there are devoted fans of a bunch of sports but this conversation (the interview being broadcast before the volleyball starts) is still a little wild to me. Like, they're getting real deep here.

They're really pumping this Michigan-Texas matchup on the Fox Big Noon kickoff on Saturday. With the volleyball team out of town, I'm really looking forward to this. Lots of Longhorns invading Ann Arbor next weekend. We tried for decades to get a home and home with Michigan. They didn't want to travel down to Austin in September, so we couldn't figure out a way to accommodate them. The only time we've ever played them was the huge Rose Bowl win where Vince Young went completely bonkers. It's a huge game for a lot of reasons. I wish the last 15 years didn't happen or it could have been the program with the most overall wins, versus the program with the second most wins. But it's still two huge traditions with two great teams. I miss Harbaugh being there, but it's fine as it is. I hope we win. I have PTSD from being a Texas fan from 1984 to 1997 and now 2010 to 2022. I'm scared this isn't real. |
