I almost went 3-2 as a tribute to their first four matches. But, despite losing the first set of the spring match, I am hoping for the sweep tonight.

St Thomas is coming off a 3-0 weekend against teams that were all (2023 RPI) ranked higher than the Tommies. Minnesota is coming back from an 0-2 weekend against teams that were in the same ballpark for 2023 RPI, but ranked below them in the AVCA coaches poll. Will the Gophers play a match that doesn't go five sets?
Figstats currently lists the Gophers (in the far too early) RPI at #111 and the Tommies at 289. |

Someone voted 3-2. If that happens I’m done being a Gophers fan. These are my two alma maters and I will switch primary alliances if the Tommies take even one set here. There must be a term for someone who switches allegiances. 😊 |

Curious to see what kind of line up we will see tonight. I expect the starters will start set 1 and then we will see some changes in set 2 and 3. I hope Mel is dressed and she can play. Last time we played St. Thomas Samady didn't even play. It was the Tommies first year as D1. I don't know that we'll have that luxury to rest players this time. I hope so, but we'll see. I suspect the Tommies are a little better a few years later. |
