Loved the Top 25 Passing Units thread that just came out because I think that’s the key to the game (no surprise). This is a very similar match-up to last year except both teams are just better. Bien was playing OH for the majority of the match last year vs. Cooper.
Big difference between Kansas’ strategy from last year is that they are serving much more aggressive. Yes, the competition hasn’t been great, but I the eye test leaves me to believe we aren’t serving lolly pops over the net like last year (I think volleydork had a graph where Kansas was in the least errors/least aces quadrant of the spectrum).
All 3 Kansas primary passers (McGehe instead of Elnady, since they try to hide Elnady in SR) pass above a 2.3. I expect Kansas to go after Hudson and if the passing rating delta holds for both teams, Kansas will win. Similarly, Purdue is probably going to need to be more aggressive to get Kansas OOS, or else I think Colvin is really neutralized with the tempo that Turner runs.

One of the best blockers in the country vs an undersized front row? Thankfully Kansas is scrappy cause this could end up being a block party.

I am in a split decision on this one. I like both of these teams very much, but my Where Have You Bien agenda takes over and I say Kansas in 5. Jayhawks, you know what to do. 🕯️
