it has to be a Cornell as all of the other ones were established pre-revolutionary war. That is correct. They have four schools within Cornell that are SUNY affiliated. Fun additional Ivy League trivia: Which school was founded in Connecticut to educate Native Americans before moving to its current campus location? The Ivy League schools have some crazy historical backgrounds. Uhh, there is only one Ivy in CT, unless this one changed states when it changed location...

For tonight's Aggie match the students will probably still be jazzed up from the Harris rally yesterday. Also watching Franklin is a real treat. Sarah is on another level altogether this year and it will get REAL scary once Charlie builds a consistent connection with her. 😤

This edition of Fun Facts is brought to you by Little Rainbow, who asked me yesterday how long humans have been in Wisconsin. I googled it, went down an internet rabbit hole, and here we are. My favorite additional fun fact is that this the land grant school for Texas. I guess I'm wondering why this is significant. It's pretty obvious with the A&M in its name.

CC prematch
Being pushed this year more than usual, which she appreciates Enjoyed the run when she played setter. Likes the trust the team places in her. Lateral movement and reading the game makes up for lack of size. Blocking is the best thing about volleyball. Otherwise likes long rallies, because it shows the connection in the team Favorite athlete: (after some waffling) Patrick Mahomes because he makes up for physical shortcoming through his anticipation and intelligence Wants to play pro in the US this spring. And in Europe thereafter. Can't miss that!
Jon's daughter asks: Why did you transfer to UW? Transferred to Wisconsin to to be around similarly driven people. Lookingfor an NC. Also looking to get away from home and grow up a bit.

White pregame
Lednicky as a Left handed RS attacker: Can adjust to balls set inside better than a right handed hitter. Allows setter to increase tempo to RS. Puts pressure on the D. Cos Okpalla: Ability to attack angles is really special. Can get underneath middle and wing blockers because she is so quick off the floor. Good blocker. A&M Transfers: Gives them lots of experience. Humphries from Rutgers is there. Have seen a lot of her, but not of the other. They are gelling easier as a result. No doubt they are am NCAA team. Linking Block and serve: Attackers and blockers have to be linked to the serve better. Badgers are working to improve that.

Sheff pregame:
Charlie: Good job spreading the offense. Stuck to game plan. connection with Smrek: Badgers have a good record when she gets 10+ kills. Have never lost when she gets 15+. Charlie is starting to understand how to set her given the blocker movement. Saige: Serving has not been her forte in practice, but she won a comp before the match so got to serve to end the match against Troy and got an ace to end it. Serving: Need to get setter on the run to use the block. A good serving team but not a great serving team yet. A&M: A really good team. One of the better RSs in the country. Experienced setter. Solid OH. Well coached Not many weaknesses.

They also have Waite much earlier in the broadcast giving an overview. I missed it.

Texas A&M has some strong pieces, so tonight’s going to be a good test for our defense. Let’s go, Badgers! 🦡
