Shaff has been setting it further and further off the net every game. She has to, that's the only way she can get a ball to a middle with reasonable location, when it isn't a slide.
They scored a couple points off actual middle sets ... that were like 5 feet above the net. Luckily our middles are freak athletes and they jumped so high, with arm directly vertical and then threw the ball down. Also lucky we didn't get called for the throws.
lol so even when she finds ways to set the middle you’re still not happy or it’s luck you’re just a loser at this point |

They can do an elementary set to a middle, actually in the middle of the net. mmm debatable. they had Chiaka at phoebe numbers this summer for the most part lol Ogbogu

Be respectful. You're not on a first name basis with either of those people.
Fair enough on your point. Simply put, most people agree you have to do actual middle sets to have a good offense. You can't just set balls to the pins.

She's never been able to do it her entire time here. She never will.
Next year it will magically get better.

The brightest of bright spots was Minatee! If we can pass... not this tragically for the rest of the season she is such a threat Shaff has been setting it further and further off the net every game. can’t wait to see her set a slide like fully behind the 10 foot line lol At the 10 foot line is what we Minnesota fans like to call a good pass lol |

You all basically look at all bad plays GG makes, all good plays that Lola makes and are like "I can't believe why anyone would think GG is good." I'm not going to argue that GG should *necessarily* be libero. But the difference is not what you intentional haters think it is. (that being said, Zeynep is very clearly is the better Turkish libero) I mean I was trying to be very open minded, and see varying POVs but okay go off sorry I was just so sick of the obvious haters just seeing only bad from one player and good from another. I mean people are basically inventing facts at this point. That's actually why I left the chat after we lost - the Minnesota fans were great, a good portion of our fanbase, frankly, is not. |

Both teams had at least 2 or 3 throws much more egregious than the one that got called tonight on Shaffmaster, IMO. Shaff and Frank were the best two players on the court and no one else was within a country mile. I don't really get the obsession (which is what it is) with her.
She is good.
But it's hardly a thing where there are no other setters in the Big Ten who can do what she does.

Neither of these teams is very good, so drawing conclusions is not a very good idea. you're being condescending. MN's PASSING isn't very good, but our defense and serving are excellent. And I'd even say our setting was very good. You just sound like an ass to come on here to say that. You have two “experienced” coaches with good athletic players competing here, and if you think this is well-trained, good volleyball, good for you. |
