What a terrible, stupid decision to play this game at 2pm Eastern/1pm Central. That's right in the middle of the most important game of the Vikings season. Decisions like this marginalize volleyball and prevent its growth. Meh. What's so special about volleyball? Why schedule it around football? Please don't derail this thread with trolling posts of unrelated comments that have nothing to do with this match. As to the actual question: programmers are 100% aware of the sports schedule and schedule things to compliment potential viewer availability across those difference timeslots, every single day. Do they ever use the BTN Alternate channels?? Like they could air both this match and the scheduled women's soccer game on BTN, no? Oh well, haven't watched a PSU BTN+ match yet, hope the commentators are decent/bearable

The U's football redshirts don't travel. Why should volleyball be special? It shouldn't What's so special about 2 mid-B1G soccer teams playing that they don't show the #3 vs. #14 VB match on the main channel? |

notes from the PSU OSU review
serve seams near Mruzik
serve with enough pace to give receivers a problem when it's at chest level
serve short (over the net though!) to put PSU OOS
OSU serving patterns had PSU OOS a lot!
avoid sets too close to net
encourage Wookie to take big swings. set wide for wipeoffs/tools, set inside
going high hands is better than trying to power through
disguise off tempo shots with big arm swings but soft rolls
vary RS slides with back quicks
force Mruzik and RSs to prove they can hit line
PSU perfect passes encourage gap sets to Trammell
Prefer OOS low % attacks rather than free balls whenever possible, particularly if Mruzik is front row
OSU had big service run near end of set 4 (when botched downref call was reversed) and PSU was in ro1:
do NOT make a SE when PSU is in ro1
Will Phoebe front Mruzik?
