Hope the poll ends at match-time (what I wanted) instead of 8pm HST (where I am now). (Edit/add) I think it will. My laptop remains on CDT, and that seems to be what is used when you set the expiration on a poll. My iPad syncs itself up with the local time (the wifi network’s time), and looking at the poll post from it, it shows a 3pm expiration, which would be correct as HST. Huzzah!

I hope for an easy three set win in this one. Rousseau always seems to give the Gophers troubles though. We'll see..

Is it common that D ball H% tend to be higher than back row attacks from the middle?

Was it really only 2 years ago that NW beat the Gophers at The Pav? I don't see that happening tomorrow. Hopefully Shaff is on her game.

We better see some good costumes on BTN! Goldy always has fun on Halloween but not sure if this matchup is big enough for him to be in attendance. http://instagram.com/p/DBaAbcDviHv

in progress review of PSU match
Wookie, in the late teens in set one, displayed some unusual footwork. Landed after one swing with both feet simultaneously followed by a stumble that looked like she might have rolled an ankle, but she came up holding her hip. Keegan subbed in Alex and then, almost immediately, called a timeout...to no avail. Grimes proceeded after this point (16-19) to serve out the set Wookie came back in the third set in the back court only (I think..as I haven't rewatched set 3.
Keegan said something in the presser re. getting healthy which raises the question about both Wookie and Grote (who was subbed in set 3). I could not, in set 2, notice any particular issue for Lydia. She did get a couple of pipe sets that did not lead to kills.

My assumption during the match was he was hoping Crowl could bring some energy and a different look for the PSU block…… that did not happen.

If I am correct Lauren is a RS Junior which means she still has, counting this year, 3 years of eligibility. I am thinking about a pair of Gopher AllAmericans who made a big jump later in their MN careers: Sarah Wilhite and Katie Harms. Harms, also a lefty OPP, was a revelation to my non-professional training eye in her senior year.
Crowl has not developed the body mechanics, particularly arm speed, to be a terminal pin hitter yet. What I don't know about kinesiology or plyometrics is just about everything, but you hear glowing testimonials from MLB pitchers who go to Arizona or somewhere over the winter and come back with a 3+mph increase in their pitching speed. I don't play golf, but I've seen video where they attach markers on your bod and analyze your swing.
If Crowl wants to be the MN frontline OPP next year she will need to 'get into the swing' of things. Is it shoulder girdle rotation? hips? rotator cuff adhesion? I've no idea. Maybe she could give Katie Harms a call? She might have the 'secret sauce' to spice up Lauren's swing.
