Badgers prematch

Smrek (I get a much better sense of her personality from this)
Bounceback against Michigan: Was largely a mental adjustment.
Connection with Charlie: Has noticed a big improvement from the start of season. The connection goes both ways in terms of expectations.
What is toughest part: Mental game. Get's in head a lot. Has to find a way to play loose
Mindfulness useful?: Big effect. Uses 4-5-6 breath technique in practice before matches, during matches.
Easiest thing: (after a delay): The skill. Just has to remember she knows how to play volleyball.
Why no BBall considering father: Never that interested. Fouled a lot.
Other interests: Drawing and doodling. Copying images. She is a bit OCD about it.

Annemarie
VB 101: Routes and tempo important. OH and RS running a 2nd temp. MB running middle. Purdue runs a slower tempo to middle. Badgers run many the same routes as other teams.
Haworth: A competitor. Tries to communicate that to her teammates. Expecting her to attack a lot. Get her out of her serve quickly.
Servers: Lots of variable servers. Gym is difficult to play in. Have to keep level platform. (Indiana does seem to be a different team at home than away)
Defense: Pressing over on a fast offense like indiana plays is important. BR D has to make sharp disciplined moves.

Sheffield
Block: improvement a result of working on it. Timing, footwork is getting better. Getting better on touches, especially on quick attack.
Resiliency: You can teach it. You have to believe that good is around the corner. Uses the baseball metaphor to discuss resilience.
GG's serve: Really important. Can locate and replicate. Goes back with a plan and a lot of confidence. Playing safe leads to soft serves or way OOB.
Committee rankings: Pays attention to standings but not rankings. With B1G there is a lot of chance to make up the difference.
Gives a shout out to Burrows and the Bengals as a comparison to badgers for being slow to begin and late to improve ()
