Pig calls as cheers. Seating visiting fans in the top rows. But the one that put it over the top was when the Badgers won the Big Ten and Cook said it didn't count because they didn't play every time twice.

2014. Her second. They lost the opening B1G match to PSU in Madison in a terrible performance that I kind of lost my patience in my criticism on this board. They didn't lose another match, but never played PSU again in conference. That was Cook's beef. They played PSU in the regional final in Louisville. They seeded the badgers 4th, and PSU 5th but the regional they were placed in was much closer to PSU. That was the fateful match where Frantti injured Carlini by landing across the midline while Lauren was blocking. I really thought the badgers were going to win that match, but Carlini could not jump and could barely move from then on. |

Newish poster here, can someone fill me in on why people actively root against Nebraska in this sport? it’s fun to have a team to dislike in your favorite sport and Nebraska is a powerhouse so unless they are your team they are a prime candidate (and a lot of their fans on here horrible lmao like holiday, maples, photos, Gibby, etc) |

Lol you all have big reasons. I just generally don't like them for the same reason I don't like the Yankees, plus sometimes there's a "oh we're so superior because we love volleyball the most" attitude from the fanbase. For the most part I like the players and save one person I'm okay with their coaches, I just want to see their team lose overall.

Newish poster here, can someone fill me in on why people actively root against Nebraska in this sport? I root against Nebraska because I strongly dislike John Cook, and I want Wisconsin to displace Nebraska as the best team in the B1G, which they've done for the most part over the last 5 years or so. This match is also going to entice a small group of Sheffield haters. They share a theory of the case - "Cheater!". You'll notice that the posts will suffer from a lack of actual evidence, e.g., a NCAA violation coupled with a penalty. In spite of that, the posters will babble on until even they can't stand to repeat the same BS for the umpteenth time. Essentially, it's just jackals nibbling at the haunches of a lion.

I do it because they are always the team wisconsin needs to beat for a big ten championship. Nah...not quite. NE fans are...Um....interesting. Cook is not a great guy. It doesn't help I'm from Texas currently but it's hard to like NE. Last year we went to an Omaha Supernova’s game (same venue as creighton) to go see our 1st pro volleyball game. Anyway we were chatting with the security as we wanted to get there early to see warm ups and pick up a tee shirt. He asked what brought us here and we said we were college vball fans. I guess, and he provided unsolicited feed back on how Cook was nasty to everyone that didn’t matter to him. Cook didn’t have his pass to get into to the arena and he went off on him because he didn’t know who Cook was, it seemed like he was really still shaken from the experience. I’m sure he’s a great coach as he’s had much success. And everyone can have a bad day. So I hope this was a one off, but I like to root for the nice people that spread positivity. But also, in general when you are a successful program other teams want to see parity. In the long run it’s not great to not have parity in any sport. |
