This match in particular -- as part of the weekend in the Mitten State -- worries me most. The lifetime records belie it, but Mike Hebert told me that this was the road trip that he worried about most, too.

Thanks for the match thread JT . This is the first time Minnesota has played at Cliff Keen since 2017 when Alexis Hart led the Gophers to a sweep. In this one, the old adage 'Its not who you play, its when you play them' is definitely going to favor the Gophers. With the Jacobs injury Michigan will struggle to score and she is also one of our best passers. The match is sold out, so it should be loud and sweaty! |

This is the first time Minnesota has played at Cliff Keen since 2017 when Alexis Hart led the Gophers to a sweep. I hate -- HATE -- the acoustics in Cliff Keen. A spiked ball gets a weird whistling sound. I also hate -- HATE,HATE,HATE -- the overhanging wall that is in the playing court on the band/student end of the court. And finally, I really and truly hate the fact that the band/student end court seating is directly above the person serving, if they back up (as most do). (Can you tell what I think of Cliff Keen as a VB venue?)  |

Game day.
Hoping the Gophers can play mostly as focused as they did in the first two sets on Friday...don't want a messy start like we saw last week in Columbus.

Hope is we end up top 16 and host. A top 16 team rolls past Michigan. I think we have not learned to finish and sometimes play down to teams we should easily beat.

maybe there were some
But they didn’t happen on an Acevedo serve
I wish Shaff would bring Wookie inside some or vary the set timing. It’s frankly boring to see poor tips and roll shots when she is not comfortable cranking on the ball
She may have a smaller ‘kill zone’ than Hanson but she does have one and nice high sets 4-5’ from the net giives her maximum opportunity it seems
