Does anyone have a list of schools with GA spots? They are hard to find since most are not posted on the website of their teams. A lot of GA jobs won't get posted until closer to the end of the school year. Some will get ahead of things on here however; there's no magic site for GA jobs. Keep your eyes here, NCAA Marketplace & AVCA website

UNC Charlotte has fired their coach. If the AD handles this hire correctly, UNCC could become a mid-major powerhouse over time. If it was that easy...

Something must have went down in Charlotte other than the record because next in line, assoc head coach, VERNA JULATON, is off the roster too, and the admin thinks it’s a good idea to go with LIVINGSTON, in charge, after the debacle at Radford……….YIKES!

My guess is that it isn’t that nefarious. Julaton has been with Weatherington a long time, and if you’re going to get rid of the HC, you probably dump the AHC who’s been her right hand the whole time. Livingston has been there a season. Yes, Radford was a debacle, but I get it.

There’s a semi-retired hall of fame coach living in the Charlotte metro area. Maybe he’d be interested. Then again maybe he’s liking retirement and doesn’t want to rebuild.

If it's who I think it is, he had plenty of opportunities to move up but he never did...until the recent debacle. Don't know that he'd want the D1 headaches anymore

(I know nothing about the school or athletic department, except that neither their basketball or football programs are any good) I mean it's not that bold of a prediction. Todd Kress had Fairfield (first time through) beating top 25s. Kelly Sheffield had Albany on the bubble. The right coach will win wherever they are. Matt Peck at MTSU might be a more appropriate comp for Charlotte, made the Elite 8. Recently Towson and Wright State have been really good as non-P5 schools. Charlotte has an international airport, a 9,000 seat arena (no they won't fill it in a pro city, but you can try to sell a vision) and a conference with just 4 top 100 teams. If a coach can get a couple players, build momentum and then ride that wave it's not hard to see Charlotte in the top 50 or higher. But I don't think Charlotte is unique.

Georgia Southern Volleyball is looking to hire graduate assistant coaches for the 2025-2026 academic year. Ideal experience for individuals interested in starting/pursuing a career in coaching/operations role. Collegiate playing experience preferred, interested candidates please email a resume to Efrain Negron (enegron@georgiasouthern.edu).
Thanks!

Extrapolating from the old model. With all the changes wrought by the portal, NIL, and conference realignment, who knows.

Those were both a long time ago and things were very different (in both of those) then(s). Plus both had the support of their administrations to make the changes that were needed.

Ok, but the point is that with the right coach who can get admins, recruits and boosters to see his/her vision, success is possible. You think MTSU said "it's really important that we hire and support a coach to make an elite 8 in volleyball...let's hire the guy from North Alabama!" or is it more likely Peck and his camp business unearthed some players who won some games and got administrators on board? Sheffield took over arguably the worst program in the country at that point, not named Savannah State. He said we are going to charge for tickets - admin said "you can't pay people to come to our games" but a few years in, they were selling tickets to UAlbany Volleyball. The prediction is, if they get this right and give the coach time, they could be a mid-major power. My point is, that is true, though not at all unique to Charlotte. Maybe they need to get an NIL booster on board instead of a University VP or a local club coach, but it's the same mission at the end of the day.
