Where the worm turned. After dropping the first set at home (it happens), Minnesota seemed in command in set two. They were up 18-11. But UW's Hunt got a kill and then went back to serve.... Five straight great serves. Four aces. For the night, Minnesota had more points, more kills, more blocks, more assists. But UW had 13 aces (many at critical moments) compared to 6 for Minnesota. Looks as though the switch from Wessels to Hunt on which middle serves was a good idea. Six aces, four in that one run! Minn did keep her front row performance contained (4 K 0.091 HP), but her serving was a big part of the win.

Emoni Bush really carried the Dawgs offense after being switched to mostly the left side in the 5-1. Her 0.220 HP doesn't look that good until compared to all of the other Huskies (except Katy Wessels, who hit 0.571 on her 7 attacks). She took 59 attacks and scored 19 very needed kills.

Sigh can we NOT blow a lead by being aced? No. The answer is almost always no.

Isn’t it sort of neglect that Wucherer is still passing? Before this season Keegan Cook reflected on not making changes last season during one interview. This is reminding me of when Texas aced Landfair 7 times targetting her all night and we never made a change Exactly like that. Building character? It's mind blowing he would let her be abused like that when we all know she tends to let it get in her head and press harder. There was absolutely NO reason to not sub Acevedo back in after the 2nd ace. None of this, hide her in the front for a pass or two and let Z get the RE. Leaving her in cost them set 2, period. If I recall, the first ace they let go and it barely dropped on the endline. The next serve she played a ball that looked to be going out. Then the wheels fell off. It was a tragedy from there on.

Watch Minnesota beat Nebraska in a few weeks 🤣 I wasn't sure which sport you were talking about, but then I did see that Minnesota faces Nebraska in wrestling on January 11th. Or maybe you meant gymnastics on February 22nd?

LMAAAAOO someone on the stream just yelled "come on" after that SE Besides her blocking numbers down this season I believe her serving is too but I could be wrong. The Gophers are winning 47.3% of Shaffmaster serves vs. 43.0% last season.

Of course this is the one game of the year I take my girl to 🫠 lmao If it’s a new thing, good way to test how she responds to you crying in public Jokes aside, this is all your fault 🫵 I beg to differ: It's your fault. As the Gophers were blowing the lead in the 2nd set, you said you'd stop watching if they lost that set. They did, and you didn't.

Hey guys so I ended up taking a 3 hour nap. The Gophers didn’t do something crazy like get aced off the court and lose a very winnable match because their head coach refused to make any changes to try and fix a very obvious problem like players can’t pass, did they? Napping can be contagious!

Hmmm.
