Very curious about the Florida State over North Carolina switch. Yes, North Carolina lost to GT in 5 yesterday, but GT has been ranked higher than both teams for quite a while. UNC still has that (recent) 5-set win over FSU and FSU didn't do anything great this weekend. They beat Cal but lost to Stanford. (This is a very small, minute complaint in the grand scheme of the poll, I know. I'm just curious where voters picked one over the other?) I never had UNC ranked. But FSU has 2 wins over Miami, and Miami has wins over Stanford and Texas, so that helps justify an FSU ranking for me But Miami (the team) is the Miami (the city) of volleyball—it looks great on the outside but gets really messy the closer you look!

I wish LMU could start receiving votes - but I get why they're not. If anyone wanted to make a case, 2 of their 4 losses in Week 1. One of their other losses (which is a bad one to San Francisco) came when their starting setter was out of the match. They lost a tough 5-setter with USC to round out their losses. They did beat SMU, and are 3-0 vs. Pepperdine/USD. Gave them some flowers this week!

In 5 sets, I know, and H2H isn't everything. UNC having beat both FSU and Miami keeps them there for me - Miami having some weird wins and losses really makes things complicated at this point in the season!

The 3 people not ranking Texas got a giggle out of me, they weren't playing around! Tell Jerritt it was me. I want him to know. In all seriousness, they were 17 on my list last week, and this free fall felt like I needed to drop them. I treated Florida and Minnesota the same way for a time, so it only felt fair.

I thought I might have been the only one. If Texas can get through a full week without losing to an unranked opponent, I'll let them back in.

At the beginning of the season who would have thought that 30% of the top 10 would be Creighton, Kansas, and SMU?

It was tough figuring out how to 'order' those 3 ...tough! Ultimately went with this order: UNC, FSU, Miami .... and only UNC made my ranking (after trying to see if I could get all 3 in there ... but I couldn't make room ...)

At the beginning of the season who would have thought that 30% of the top 10 would be Creighton, Kansas, and SMU? Creighton had some hype. I didn't really understand it until seeing them play/the impact of the transfers. Not sure how much hype the others had.
