At the beginning of the season who would have thought that 30% of the top 10 would be Creighton, Kansas, and SMU? Creighton had some hype. I didn't really understand it until seeing them play/the impact of the transfers. Not sure how much hype the others had. Creighton had some top 15 hype. I'm not sure anyone was hyping them to top 5

They were expected to be the best team in the Big 12. SMU is definitely better than expected, though.

I wish LMU could start receiving votes - but I get why they're not. If anyone wanted to make a case, 2 of their 4 losses in Week 1. One of their other losses (which is a bad one to San Francisco) came when their starting setter was out of the match. They lost a tough 5-setter with USC to round out their losses. They did beat SMU, and are 3-0 vs. Pepperdine/USD. It's strange how truly awful LMU played in that loss to USF, since they have been running a 6-2 all season and their other setter (who is 6'0) was healthy and ran a 5-1 for that match. Other than that, LMU has looked increasingly better as the season has progressed.

They have ASU this weekend and TCU and Baylor next weekend. Outside of the Purdue and Creighton games, their schedule has been pretty kind of them so far. But wins are wins and they deserves their flowers for what they've done so far.

I think that's a fair point, but I think the bigger question about Kansas was what being the "best team in the Big 12" meant relative to other competition. With Texas gone, the Big 12 was obviously losing its power player. As it turns out, the Big 12 is strong this year even without Texas, but it could have gone a different way.

I'm just saying I would expect the best team from any P4 conference to be in the top 10 at this point of the season. Granted, as nychusker pointed out, Kansas hasn't had to face much difficulty in the early part of its conference schedule. We'll see how they do when it gets harder. Edit: I just realized that the SEC has no top 10 teams and doesn't really deserve any at this point.

I would have thought the SEC would be more likely than the Big 12 to have a team in the top 10, and would have more than the Big 12 in the top 15. I'm genuinely excited for KU though, and that ASU, Baylor, and TCU have had the success they have is the icing on the cake.

All those that ranked Pitt anything but #1 will be hearing from my lawyer.

All those that ranked Pitt anything but #1 will be hearing from my lawyer. Yes, yes. Sue them for all the money they made from these rankings. Jokes aside, Nebraska looked very impressive at Wisconsin, and with their more impressive non-con schedule and equally impressive conference schedule, they've proven more than Pitt. Anything else is just an eye exam and I'd argue that there are no conclusive answers to that. EDIT: There is also Pablo, which would be my rebuttal if I was a Pitt fan.

Also: who voted Purdue at 6?! It better be because we were probably the closest to beating Nebraska in Lincoln. There's no other way the Boilermakers are the 6th ranked team lol. Top 10? Probably. Not 6! probably the same person who put Wisconsin at 16. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

knapplc lost his Corn Card privileges and thus this week's outrage is invalidated.
