SWAC Quarterfinals #1 - #1 Florida A&M def #8 Grambling 3-1

- Grambling led for most of set four but FAMU took the lead late while GSU fought off three match points but couldn't pull through
- FAMU's Brooke Lynn Watts with match-highs of 16 kills & 19 digs
- GSU's Essence Allen had 15 kills & 12 digs

Grambling was the tournament host and now they are out

Here we go again. FIU went 5 with WKU twice and now again WKU has their hands full.

(#4) Army up 2-1 on (#2) Bucknell in the Semifinals.

Bucknell lost to Army in West Point a couple weeks ago. Bucknell also lost a heartbreaker to Colgate to lose their hosting privileges.

To make it even worse - if the Patriot League didn't re-seed, they'd have a MUCH more favorable matchup.

(#5E) Georgia State and (#1E) Appalachian State have been battling. Tied 1 set a piece. This is basically a 10 vs 1 or 9 vs 2 matchup.

Southland Quarterfinals #2 - #2 Texas A&M-Corpus Christi def #7 Lamar 3-0

- Four players with double-digit kills for TAMUCC, setter Alex Hoglund with 48 assists & team hit .484
- For Lamar, Maja Malinowska with 10 kills & 8 digs

AAC Quarterfinals #1 - #6 Florida Atlantic def #3 East Carolina 3-2

- FAU won 16-14 in the fifth
- As noted in another thread, ECU's Angeles Alderete got injured midway through the match
- FAU's Valeria Rosado had 26 kills (.313) & 16 digs, setter Victoria Hensley with 54 assists & 11 digs

A10 Quarterfinals #1 - #4 Davidson def #5 George Washington 3-1

- Davidson had four players in double-digit kills, libero Jordan Hummel had 26 digs
- Miami-FL transfer Cianna Tejada had 9 blocks and Texas transfer Reilly Heinrich had 23 digs for GWU

SoCon Quarterfinals #2 - #1 Mercer def #9 UNC Greensboro 3-0

- Mercer: Florida State transfer Skye Ekes went off with 21 kills (.528), Brooke Phillips with 41 assists, and MeMe Davis with 33 (!!!) digs

Holy sh*t FIU just fought off four match points and we're tied at 24 in the 4th set

... FIU set point, 25-24.

Volleyball is SO weird like that. FIU forces a really bad pass on their serve after WKU hasn't sided out 3 straight times - and of course WKU terminates out of system on the worst pass they got in the whole stretch.

Another call goes WKU's way.... backrow attack (replay didn't have me convinced that was a good call).

Back and forth we go.. Tied at 28!

Ball called out to give WKU the match at 30-28. FIU challenging - they were adamant, judging from body language on WKU - seemed like a touch. But replay isn't looking too definitive to me.

(#6) Lehigh just took set 1 over top-seed Colgate, in Hamilton. Colgate just swept Lehigh 2 weeks ago. Lehigh took a set in Bethlehem, in their first meeting.
