Impressive road sweeps at record-breaking attendance venues these teams past 2 weekends Hard to see Nebraska lose the rest of the season Agree this was an impressive 4 match road trip. NE playing very good VB. However, it is very difficult to stay at the top of your game, and NE will need to be at the top of their game to finish out the B1G undefeated. On the other hand I am hoping they are saving their best for the NCAA Tournament.

Wow. No Endsly and No Barton. No wonder no win.
Had they both been healthy, Nebraska still wins (IMO), but at least it would have been a lot more interesting.

Love the self-cover by Hunt, then reaction play by Turino, followed by the foot save by Bayes at 53:03. Three contacts in 2 seconds to get the ball back over. This kind of play has been greatly increased by this year's Huskies and opponents can never assume that balls have gone down. (Replay at 53:30 only catches Wilmes' play)

Huskers back row is such a major difference maker. They do things that just put them on another level. You watch other teams and then realize how good the Huskers fans have it. Lani had a few insane dives. Glad she has not taken anyone out from friendly fire. You just can't teach what she does. Her heart is built different. I agree. Our backcourt was a huge difference maker last night. Washington was really thumping some hard serves at them, yet the passing looked great all night. With the exception of Lexi's shank at the end of the match, it was near perfect. I don't think we will see any passing letdowns like we saw in the championship match last year.

Not Nebraska coming to the Pacific Northwest, turning it red and smacking the girls upside the head in the process. Harper and Taylor went off again!

Lots of little details that Nebraska was better at that allowed them to put more pressure on us than we could on them. A fairly consistent performer as Nebraska really exposes the small things that we don't do or only do intermittently.

Back from the match along with 9767 other fans. As expected, a Nebraska sweep. - Julia Hunt has kind of disappeared offensively. I have some thoughts about that but will post on the Washington 2024 thread tomorrow about that and other matters going forward. Julia has struggled against the top tier B1G teams. She had 0 blocks against Wisconsin and Nebraska, 3 kills at WI, 0 kills @ Neb. I'm a Julia fan, and I think this is just a matter of being a freshman and adjusting to the speed/size of that top tier. It also doesn't help that both WI and Neb had the Huskies OOS a lot which lowers the % of middle attacks.

I'm not sure how many matches people see in person... but the contact point landfair has is scary. As miss jackson. 3.75 above the net?
I'm surprised we don't see landfair just powering ott more often. She is WAYYYY up there.
When you see her and jackson on TV it doesn't do it justice. I think this better explains how they shut down Smrek. Seeing these athletes in person is quite the show.

My god, I can’t imagine anyone growing up playing volleyball can stand watching today’s game. The amount of lifts in this match was just unreal.

we weren't gonna win this match, but nice to see a huge crowd out! Huskies have some momentum, and if we can get healthy, this can be a second week tournament team.
Also, who made this schedule? They fly to Minnesota for a Thursday night match, fly back home Friday - rest - practice, all to get ready for a home match against Nebraska on Saturday? Like, come on, this sounds kinda stupid. It's not even a home advantage at that point when they just flew home the day before!

But I disagree that Julia is suddenly struggling because she is a freshman and facing top tier B1G teams. I've outlined my analysis in a post in the Washington 2024 thread but in the last two matches (Hunt's worst) I think a lot of it comes down to Leslie's decision to run a 5-1 with Wilson setting Hunt on mostly slide attacks.

Allick through a ball down early in the first set that I thought should have been called -- her hand was on the ball a long time. After another couple of throws that might have been called, both teams got the message and you saw players like Wessels doing the same thing, something we haven't seen from her. Of course it's a judgment call by the ref but at some point you've got to call the really obvious dunks.
