Nice to wake up to this result. Glad they were able to get the sweep with Alexander having a rare off night. Hoping to hang in and watch some of the match tonight. Trying to function in normal person Eastern time for a week. My ESPN+ subscription is working well, at least.

So awesome to see Stella and Tali have strong offensive nights - and that has to be Tali’s best all-around game statistically in a Hawaii uniform!

Agree with the above statement! Caylen wasn’t quite her usual self but these two players stepped up when we needed them! Hoping for no letdown tonight against UCSD.
Even without last night’s win our RPI rose to 47 due to out of conference opponent wins. I think with a weekend sweep our RPI rises to about 42/43. Go Bows!

For those who been following Long Beach more closely - why did they stick with the 6-2 even after Meyer came back? She replaces Natalie Glenn when it's Glenn's turn to serve... why would you even take that away?? Isnt she one of the best servers in the BWC? I dont get it.
Also I still see Agi in the LB roster? Has she played this season?

I believe she's recovering from injury.

hard to change from a 6-2 when 1) Beach won 4 straight must win games with wins over Davis, Irvine, and UCSD (UCSD was the hottest Big West team) 2) Meyer has not set as well this year 3) Glenn's serve had tailed off since the first half of the season, so had Glenn. I was concerned Glenn was wearing down, she plays beach VB as well, been two straight years with no break and I know others do it. Before last night Glenn was hitting almost 0.500 out of the 6-2 prior 4 games so why mess with that?, plus O'Reilly was helping on the block and O'Reilly was terminating in her rotation. Just seems fresher legs for Glenn. I do think Beach didn't go to the Opp as much as they could ahve yesterday. 4) it was a pretty simple change to let Meyer take over Collins role in the 6-2 5) Granted, they do lose the threat of Meyer when she's in the front row, just more recent matches Meyers was overdumping IMO. the offense wasn't clicking as well. Granted, it seems like the 6-2 has never even been played at Long Beach, almost sacraledge to not play a 5-1 6) Hayes play was almost a shock, to come in on that 6-2 and set Beach to the Davis win, but her sets have been solid, maybe not as much last night. Plus Hayes also has a high risk-reward lefty serve more of a hard float vs. Glenn's jump overspin, so Beach really wasn't sacrificing much in threat on serve. 7) also put Chacon as only a serve sub, which she has a very good serve. Robyn was picking on Chacon going back to last year. albeit last night the pins had some trouble with receive. like a virus when Beach plays Hawaii now. Agi is a medical red-shirt. we'll see if they go back to the 5-1, but with the way Hayes has played not sure that's the best decision right now. Do miss having the threat of Meyer on the front row, by now teams are looking for that anyway
