kiyoatDoes the 'Yotes lineup look right? (Should be what they had in their last match, but maybe that's not a good one to base things on?)

The Tommies can move up into 3rd place by winning out and the Yotes losing out. Actually not that unlikely, given the Tommies remaining schedule is relatively easy, and USD's is the 2nd hardest.... But the Toms will need to win this one first....
Yotes have a chance at moving up into a tie with Omaha for 2nd if we win out.... or even more with some help... lots to play for both ways.

So what did St Thomas do to be the only team giving the Jacks a loss? I didn't see the game, but I'm not the best at real-time evaluation, anyway.
I remember the Yotes's strategy vs them involved a lot of avoidance of their great middles. Tips over and sharp angled pin attacks. Also, attacking the block high (high hands). The placement of back-row players to defend attacks from the middles optimally was mentioned, too.
I haven't crunched numbers recently, but I remember thinking that St Thomas was pretty good at simply playing cleanly, and limiting errors.....
What are some thoughts about this match-up?

I missed the game so went back and watched it..... St Thomas played really clean (except the fifth set) and did everything that USD had previously done but just executed the game plan better.... SDSU just did not play well overall either. With how USD has been playing, I don't think the Tommies will get this one.... but anything can happen

This the first stop on the Coyote "Red Dead Redemption Tour" 1. St Paul, MN vs ....#4 UST 2. Omaha, NE vs ....#2 Omaha 3. Vermillion, SD vs #1 SDSU “Revenge is never a straight line. It's a forest, and like a forest it's easy to lose your way..."
-Hattori Hanzo, "Kill Bill Vol. I"*Sorry for the theatrics, but there are only three matches left, and I'm going to enjoy it!
