Cause setter dumps are totally common in 6-2s! Hey, Izzy did several both seasons!  Izzy could do it all. Even played middle blocker one night. (A sub count gamble that Sheffield made and lost one night vs Michigan State, IIRC. Izzy came as a serving sub for Dana on sub #15, and then the set went to something like 32-30. Izzy rotated through the front twice, all while Dana sat of the bench watching. It was amazing.) |

Anyone have a video of that? I looked up the date, and the score: Michigan State, in Madison, Nov 19, 2021. Third set, 36-34 MSU won. And Izzy at MB was only part of the craziness. IIRC, Wisconsin had thought they had on a touch call or some such, but MSU challenged and won. Then MSU thought they had won, and the Badger bench was starting to gather up stuff to switch ends when fans at the other end of the court yelled "FOOT FAULT! CHALLENGE FOOT FAULT!" loud enough for Sheffield to hear. Challenge won, and the set continued. I'm sure BTN-Plus has the match available in their archive. I may have to download it and watch again. Oh, and played leftside for MSU that night? A freshman named Sarah Franklin. Edit: it gets better yet! The challenge that MSU won at 30-29 to keep the set going? Franklin hitting line over Hilley and just catching the line. |

I think it was last year when CC asked for them to put 'CC' in as her name, and they did. She then said something during the year about 'It's just CC, not CC Crawford' re:media calling her CC Crawford. To which Kelly said something like, "Dude, they're just calling you what you asked them to call you" |
