I think 1, 4, 5, 8 to the ACC is very likely. Not fun, but likely. That would be brutal to have all of your top 4 teams in the conference to be in the same side of bracket. They might try to switch WI and SMU to avoid that.

They might try to switch WI and SMU to avoid that. That sets bad precedent. ACC and Big Ten will each have a minimum of 3 teams in the top 10 each year going forward. Big Ten will likely have 5 next year. They can’t switch it around every time that happens. Currently, forcing SMU up gives the on-paper appearance of really helping them and hurting Wisconsin. SMU gets to go to a team that they beat 3-0.

Pretty easily in fact (MBB and WBB do it). But they won't because there is no directive for them to do so.

i can't wait to hear what criteria they 'valued' this year. top-10 wins? no bad losses? last 10 matches? common opponents?

i can't wait to hear what criteria they 'valued' this year. top-10 wins? no bad losses? last 10 matches? common opponents? It's not just "what" but sometimes "who". Does the Big 12 get valued? ASU seeded high - three of Baylor/BYU/TCU/Utah getting seeded, Arizona IN or does it get shat on? ASU bumped down - losing a seed or two, and Arizona OUT? It's sometimes hard to predict.

I don't envy anyone who's trying to put together a bracket right now.

"Creighton is the overall number one -- there's just really something to be said for having a coach whose facial expressions make for great memes on VolleyTalk, and that was our #1 criteria this year"

Strength of Schedule according to Massy. #1 Wisc, #2 Stanford, #3 Nebraska, #4 Louisville - Penn State is #8 - Creighton is #51. Creighton should not be in the conversation for a top 4 seed.

Creighton can’t control their conference schedule They played the number 2 SOS in the pre season So let’s not use schedules here

How about Massey Power Ranking ? Creighton is # 12. Massey overall has them only ranked #8 . I have watched them 5 times this year and I don’t see them in the top 4 teams in the country. Sorry !

If you're a mid-major, you have to cash in those opportunities if you want to host.
