Prediction:
OH - Hanson/Wucherer
Middle - Myers/Minatee
Opp - Crowl
Setter - Swenson
Libero - Palabiyik
DS - Thibault
Acevedo - serving sub
Other predictions:
1.) I think Crowl starts the season, but by the end, Gilk starts and Crowl is brought in as a blocking sub.
2.) I can see a truly healthy rotation if all three middles. Myers, Minatee, and Taylor all seem great. My guess is that Taylor doesn’t start, but plays often when either middle is having an off night. I don’t think KCook will need to hesitate to put Taylor in if either Myers or Minatee are struggling in the slightest. (She also seems like she could be a great presence on the court)
3.) I would love to see Acevedo actually be the DS and hit out of the back row, but unless the BIC is used more often than last year, and it might with a new setter, I don’t think it pays for her to play back row as a DS. Leave that to Thibault or Garr.
4.) Kinney - from what I saw of her on the USA team, she needs a bit more time to develop before getting a starting spot. You can tell she is competitive and wants to get the job done, but I think she needs more time to develop her tools in her tool box to actually score the points.
