I passed by Juliana in school today and I noticed she had a soft cast/brace around her left leg. Anyone know if she suffered an injury during practice or anything of that sort? I hope it isn't anything serious, as it didn't seem to be, because having her out would definitely hurt the team being the offensive threat that she is.

Kari Gregory and Nikke Thomas are just as good as Sanders. Better blockers too. The key for the Wahine is not to get injured during the WAC & NCAA tournament. EVERY year something happens in December. Good Luck to them.

She wears it as preventative. She takes it off when she plays. She has had nagging problems with the leg but I understand will be correcting those.

The news showed that Sarah Mason is practicing again. I hope she is able to play this weekend. ON KHON - Mason stated that she is feeling better but would like to rest it so she's "110 percent" for the NCAA's. Shoji stated that if she's ready to go, he wants to play her..it's hard for her to wait another week or two and expect her to gel.

Good Luck to them. if it was early in the season i would agree. i think sanders has distinguished her self in recent games as a decent blocker but more than that... an offensive force that already garnered her two x-box pow awards.

It is very possible for her to ease back into the line up. Hawaii wont need Mason for the first round of the WAC tournament. She would be very helpful against Nevada but maybe not as critical against Idaho. In the championships against Utah State or NMSU, Mason will be needed. But it really makes Hawaii hard to scout. Houston and Mason are very different players with different styles of hitting. This could pose some problems for the opposing teams.

I'm guessing that Hawaii wouldn't or shouldn't suit up Mason until the second round, and then only to get her some reps in, probably not play more than a full game, just in case she is needed against NMSU or USU.
I saw her the other day and she is walking pretty well and doesn't seem to bothered by the foot again. Let's hope it stays strong!

I agree, at this stage and being that it's a recurring issue for Mason, I think just getting in reps is good, as long as Hawaii has the match in hand. For her to get injured now when Hawaii us up 2-0, leading 23-14 and losing her for the rest of the year would make it harder for Hawaii to go farther in the tournament.

An injured ankle is highly susceptible to reinjury for almost a full year from the initial injury, and we've already seen two injuries this season.
Summary for Wolfgang: You better drop in a big sacrifice for Pele unless you wanna see Mason go back down to the floor in pain the first week of December.

Is Pele's sacrificial creche all full up for this Milennium?
