Looks like Hahn is proving her worth. 10 kills, 2 errors on 22 swings for .364 efficiency. Also led the match with 3 service aces, 0 errors. And sneaked in a few assists, digs, and blocks too. I wonder how huge her stats would be if Laura Jones didn't get three times as many swings as everyone else on the court. Even for a middle, her numbers are impressive.
I didn't notice she received Big12 and National POW until I was looking for game stats!
Hahn Named National and Big 12 Player of the Week For Immediate Release Monday, November 21, 2005
Toolbox COLLEGE STATION, Texas- Christi Hahn of Texas A&M has been selected the Sports Imports/AVCA Division I National Player of the Week, as well as the Big 12 Volleyball Player of the Week.
The junior middle blocker from Leander, Texas, received the honors for the first time in her career after posting back-to-back career-setting performances while leading A&M to crucial five-game victories against both Kansas and No. 24 Colorado.
Hahn set career highs in kills and hitting percentage against the Jayhawks on Nov. 16, recording 21 kills and only one error in 38 attempts for a .526 efficiency. She also paced the team in blocks with five.
Hahn bettered her kill record with 23 while hitting at a .514 clip to help lead A&M to a victory at Colorado on Nov. 19. Hahn also added six blocks in the win.
For the week, Hahn averaged 5.20 points, 4.4 kills, 1.1 blocks and hit .520. She leads the Aggies with a .319 hitting percentage for the full season and is second on the team with 2.79 kills, 0.87 blocks and 3.55 points per game.
Hahn is the second Aggie to receive the national honor as Laura Jones earned the honor on Oct. 18, 2004.
Hahn and the Aggies (14-12, 7-10 big 12) have a busy final week of the regular season, hosting Texas Tech tonight at 6 p.m. and Iowa State Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. They conclude the regular season Saturday at No. 11 Missouri.
