Gametracker stopped at 18-11 in Game 3 for me. What's up?
EDIT: It just went from 18-11 to 30-22 SJSU and 2-0 NMSU in Game 4

NMSU beat SJSU, 3-1. USU beat Fresno, 3-1. Nevada and Idaho are underway, with Nevada up 28-21 in the first game.

So I'm watching the Hawaii vs. Boise State match now via their free-live feed (man, is it SLOW) and I have one question, "Where IS everyone?!"

The match was a bit sloppy, especially towards the end of game 3 when Shoji emptied the bench. Mason looked rusty from the layoff, but good to just get her some game time.
Hawaii swept Nevada twice this season, as long as they play reasonably well, should sweep again tomorrow. On the postgame interview Shoji said Nevada looked like they had some players who looked like didn't want to be there, had nothing to play for. He said it's important to come out strong in game 1 and take them out of the match early.
Utah State and New Mexico State both won in 4, didn't see the matches, but looks like neither was that impressive. Hawaii just has to take of business on its side of the court and it should win.

Yeah, I thought it was strange that he said something like that as well, although to be honest it was probably true. When they played Utah State last week, they should have won the first game but gave up 5 or 6 points in a row to lose the game, they completely folded in the next 2 games, to get swept 3-0.
Bulletin board material or not, Hawaii is the better team and should win tomorrow.

While this may be true (and I'm not disputing that Hawaii is the better team and should win), it's part of "the coaches unspoken code" not to take a shot at a colleague in the press (case in point - the Mary Wise, Tennessee incident a couple of weeks back and all the stir it created - not to mention the retraction). I'm not saying that all adhere to this "unwritten rule" (you can always think of a few exceptions), but most do and I'm surprised at Dave for making the comment (since, as far as I know, it's not like him). As you said, it probably won't matter, but I'm still surprised by it.

Dave probably wanted to give them something to put on the bulletin board. They all know WHO that somebody is, and if that was up there, it would just be a reminder that that somebody can't wait for basketball season... and it's only one match away.

This game was a typical WAC match where the Wahine were just skipping and hop skotching their way to another win. I was not at all suprised of how they didn't shut out BSU. But I was suprised about how many net violations were commited!!!! WTF?! I think I can remember at least 7 of them! Hope it's just a matter of getting used to altitude/gym/sport court or whatever it is...
Good to see Sarah Mason back. Even though she seemed a little rusty and somewhat out of kilter, that's to be expected from being out with an injury. Smart move by Shoji to put her in tonight rather than he wait until next week. Hope she gets back to original form soon!
Good job to Prince on hitting 360 on the match. after seeing her hit 2 out in a row, I was a little worried about her.
ALso good job Ashley for getting her 2nd kill as a libero as a Wahine!

Jus my opinions on the match is that the Wahine didn't play their best once again. Especially in the third set with half their starting line-up on the bench.
I must say that I was impressed with Tara Hittle tonight. Out of the two seasons that I've watched her, I have to say that this was one of the best if not best offensive nights I've seen from her.
Other than that it was jus another ordinary night for Victoria Prince and Kanoe Kamana`o. A big congratulations to Kanoe for becoming the all-time assist leader at Hawai`i.
On a side-note...this question is to aaronic...I'm not being sarcastic or anything, but did you actually watch the match to see Ashley get that kill because I watched the whole thing and don't recall her getting a kill. I know she had a couple of standing hits over the net but neither of them went down. Did I miss it, because I did switch stations couple times but I only missed couple points.

to answer the question regarding Ashley and her kill:
yes i did watch the match as a matter of fact and i DID happen to double check the box score before I made that statement.
I mean she may not have "traditionally" gotten the kill- she didnt jump and literaly hit it as hard as how Jamie Houston would, but what it was was when she dug the ball, it went back over the net for a kill.
Does that help clear the picture?
