not enough time to read them all, so I'll start my own.
First of all, congrats to the Huskies. Amazing job tonight, and I am so happy for Jim MC, what a great guy who absolutely deserves this for all his hard work. He was probably unjustly overlooked for COY.
I don't have much to say (right now). That was as disappointing as it comes from a Husker fan's perspective. It was shocking to sit there and watch a team completely control a match against the Huskers. I never felt like the Huskers had a chance because they never really showed that they could turn things around, string points together, and retake momentum in the match.
As great as Washington played, I really think the Huskers worst enemy were themselves. They were great in system (no surprise), but their awful passing made us out-of-system on almost every point it seemed. I have no idea why our serve receive broke down. Nerves? Who knows. I didn't mind our serving errors, because we were trying to be as aggressive as possible. But, Washington was getting us out of system with much more frequency, using a seemingly more conservative serving game.
Another thing was how impressed I was with UW's block. Probably a by-product of poor passing and less-then-stellar setting, but still. I knew they were great defensively, so that didn't surprise me.
I wish I had had a chance to see them play more often this season, but I remember seeing them on TV only once. Let's not forget that Washington had as good a season as Nebraska had, but were hidden in Nebraska's shadow since the Huskers have been ranked #1 all year.
I guess I did have a lot on my mind. Couldn't help. Once again, great job Huskies, a very well deserved National Championship.
