Barboza is not mentioned anywhere in the All-American lists, yet she had virtually identical numbers to Fawsett. She played more than half of season. Does the NCAA have some kind of artificial minimum for number of matches played to be considered for post season awards?
I'll take a 6-0 player with those numbers over a 6-4 kid any day.

It's not the NCAA but the AVCA that gives out the All-American awards. I believe you have to have played 2/3 of the matches your team played to be eligible.

It's 2/3 of all of a team's games played at the time of the regional list selection. I don't know what would happen if the player meets the 2/3 at the time of the regional list, but postseason pushes the player under 2/3.
Tomasevic didn't make it last season either, and she was hitting well over .300.
There is an exception for missing matches due to national team play. I suppose the games missed would be counted towards the game played, or they have a two thirds requirement for the matches where the player wasn't doing national team commitments.

It would have been interesting to see if NF would have won if CB had not been injured.

At the time of Barboza's injury, some of us were doing a calculation of what Stanford would need to do in order to keep her eligible for AVCA honors. Stanford would have to have gone 3 games every match except one where they could go 4 games. They ended up going 4 games twice and 5 games 3 times.
