Haven't heard any rumors about the Utah State job. Wondering if Karen Lamb would be interested if her husband could also get on the football staff. I hear her son has been offered a basketball scholarship there.

Are you serious? Why so she can ruin another good program? Her girls at BYU thought she was a worthless coach. She must have taken coaching lessons from Yoda (Elane Michelis)

Are you serious? Why so she can ruin another good program? Her girls at BYU thought she was a worthless coach. She must have taken coaching lessons from Yoda (Elane Michelis) She ruined BYU? Let's see....14-19 her first year (decimated by injuries, plus she got the job in late June), 24-9 her 2nd year (2nd round NCAA), 19-11 her 3rd year, led the athletic department in GPA's, led the conference in volleyball academic selections-yeah, she left the program in a shambles. She had some personal problems and probably should have taken a leave of absence. She treated her players with respect and demanded they do well in school. Oh yeah, and they won quite a few games in the process. A few cry babies and their parents got to a spineless asst. athletic director. Elaine Michaelis probably should have retired years ago. So should Joe Paterno. But she is the classiest lady in sports. She influenced hundreds of players and deserves the respect of punks like you. Was she the greatest volleyball mind, no. But she had a positive influence on so many young women. To refer to her as yoda is so low.

Anyone should be flattered by a reference to Yoda, unless you're talking about looks, but then again, the young Yoda was pretty cute and all... I dunno... I'd still take it as a compliment.

For the record, the nickname "Yoda" is already officially taken within the coaching fraternity. It belongs to Cal Assistant Matt McShane (I'm surprised BearClause didn't beat me to the punch with this one).

I see your point-Yoda was very wise, a great mentor, etc. I'm sure the other poster wasn't referring to his cerebral attributes. Elaine Michaelis is a great lady, and I'll defend her 'til I'm blue.
