Complete truth, I was the first person out the door for both exams haha. Yeah, the tournament, besides having a great atmosphere, had some great teams and matches. I am a freshman and I can say without waver, that last weekend was one of the best volleyball tournaments, in all aspects of how it was run, the teams, competition, sportsmanship, etc. that I have ever been a part of.

only thing that sucked in my opinion was that we were #2 seed, and we had to work twice, and the 4th seeded team didnt have to work at all. thats my only complaint. tell dave he did an excellent job of running things

Fresno State beats Indiana for Championship, 25-16, 26-24. Ind was up 6 during game 2 but could not hold it. Ind did very well as setter injured ankle yesterday and only saw limited duty lst match this morning. Fresno gets it done with big hitters and good skills.
SemiFinals: FSU def Cal 25-18, 25-20 Ind def Colo in two; my notes are unclear on scores. Colo also did well as two players went out injured yesterday.

Did Indiana even have a coach? It seemed like the injured setter coached today.

I don't think they had one along, but I never asked their players. Several teams had none or changing coaches. SF St had a different one each of two days. UNLV had none, 6 players only on Sat, 7 players on Sun. Indiana hosted a huge tourney last weekend and perhaps coach could not get away this weekend.
As club teams all have to come up with their own funding, I heard some interesting $$ generating ideas. Will have to ask all the teams we play for more ideas. One team has an anonymous donor who matches $$ 1 for 1. Another team takes their whole team and jv too to a nearby 7 Flags amusement park for one day (a weekend?), and runs concesions or somesuch....and gets funds.. I don't have the details on that one, but plan to get them. Another runs juniors invitational tourney on their campus. Usual bbq/spaghetti feeds at local restuarants. Several work at campus events, sell fball seat cushions, programs etc. Big $$ come from hosting large college vb invitational tourneys.

Yea i thought he was their coach, then i remembered him being helped off the court on saturday.
I play at SF state. Our head coach could only come saturday morning and afternoon. He had a family event saturday night and had to travel to Atlanta on Sunday for a work conference.
I was told that their opposite stepped in to set after their starting setter went down. I was really impressed by his hands and his footwork. I didnt see one bad set from him on sunday. I left before the match with Fresno State though. Nice second game. IU has good outsides, but Fresno has huge #17 (monster of a hitter) and an overall talented supporting cast. Its nice to see Fresno being pushed to the limit.
