Becky Eggering Pike '93 is a former player who is married to Steven Pike; they live in Kirksville, MO where Becky works in the Development Office at Truman State University. Two of their three beautiful children are currently in the pediatric ICU at St. Louis Children's Hospital. The family was somehow exposed to e-coli and the kids are in very bad shape. Ethan and Megan both have HUS, a condition that can cause kidney failure as a result of the toxins produced by the e-coli. Megan has kidney failure (hopefully temporary) and is on dialysis, Ethan's kidneys have not shut down yet but he is still very ill and they are monitoring him constantly.? Little Megan had an MRI last night to try and assess if there is brain damage. There was good news today about the MRI as it looks like there is no impairment.
The family has established a website on CaringBridge where we can go to check for updates on the kids progress. If you want to check on the situation or send an email message to Becky you can follow this link <http://www.caringbridge.org/>. Click on the "visit a website" link in the upper right corner of the main page and then enter "meganpike" to go to their website.
Please keep Becky, Steven, and their children in your thoughts and prayers.

God, you hate to hear about bad things happening to children.

Becky played for the old time powerhouse St. Charles VBC way back when and was the head coach at Truman State for a number of years too. This is really a tragedy. At least the news from the hospital is good.
