Yenno ... back in '04 when Teisa Fotu was part of the team, Leahy constantly would call her TOFU.
MUAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA.
Sorry, I just couldnt help it. It makes me laugh, especially when he is all serious because a long and exciting rally is happening .... then he slips "TOFU DIGS THE BALL ... TOFU WITH THE BLOCK ... KILL BY TOFU."
Yea this is somwhat nonsensical and pointless, but everyone needs to smile.
I also remember in '03 when the Wahine swept Stanford in the Sping season. Following a rough '02 season, Kahumoku returned and the team had Willoughby, Duggins, and Gustin .... yada yada yada.
They lost to Stanford big time when it counted.
Happens a lot huh Wahine fans.
But i still love 'em.
Later gater.

But i still love 'em. Later gater. Other Leahy-isms: Mistaking Kamana'o and Kahumoku's names. "Kahumoku sets Kahumoku." Mistaking Victoria Prince and Kari Gregory. Now that's funny. Calling Melissa Villaroman "MELISSAROMAN" in the middle of frantic rallies. "Ball ratatats around." Chris and Jim's exchanges. Chris (who loves to exaggerate the height of players): "That's a formidable front row for Hawaii. Kahumoku at 6-3, Lundqvist at 6-3, Boogaard at 6-3." As soon as he finishes saying this, the opposing team's tiny setter successfully dumps the ball. Jim: "Boy, that nullifies all that height." By the way, Hawaii did beat Stanford in the regular season in 2003. It was in 2002 when they got beat twice - at senior night and in the final four - after sweeping the Cardinals in the spring. 2002 was also the year of Lily's return.

You would think that a white guy like Jim Leahy would be able to distinguish two white girls like Prince and Gregory.
