First of all if all you know is SEC volleyball, you're missing out alot! If you get cable you can see quite a few teams from the Pac-10 (Fox Pacific) the Big 10 and Big 12 (Fox Midwest) or CSTV of course. ESPN does a lot of Big 10 games towards mid season. Normal cable out here wont get you too much, but I'm actually getting DirecTV installed in my appartment tommorow afternoon. CSTV, ESPNU, 19 FSNs, 3 CSS channels, and then some random stuff like OLN (versus), YES, MASN, so hopefully i will actually get to follow some "national" volleyball. "that chick" is a very good MB for UCLA. 2005 1st team Pac-10 led UCLA in blocks 19 times last year. Had 22 matches where she finished with 5 blocks or more her sophomore season. Yeah, but even being first team all pac-10, isnt hitting 8-something on that many attacks (vs a top ten team no less...) all but unheard of?

Florida had the blocks up on her, but she has such incredible hang time. If she beat the block up, then she pounded it. If the block was there, she waited a split second until the block was coming down, and she pounded it. It was a display of incredible offense. I've seen her do this before, but not having taken sooo many swings. It was quite impressive.

Well she was in on 17 of UCLA's 22 blocks in their upset win against Washington last year. I believe nine were solo blocks. But yes you're right that is an ungodly number. And to be hitting .700 after two matches? Yikes! Point is, she is a very good MB.

Oh, if you're a real volleyball fan, not just your home team fan, you'll be in heaven. I have all the matches that were on TV the last 3 years sitting in a cabinet. I still watch non-Husker matches, especially right before the season, or on a cold winters Sunday afternoon.

One thing i love about volleyball the rare times it is on TV is you can see all of / allmost all of the court and allmost everything that is going on...
I hate in Football how they always zoom in too far and you cant really tell whats going on... All the WRs and DBs are off the screen. It's also hard to really appreciate a RBs vision (or the quality of an offensive / defense scheme) without being able to see most of the defenders... Same thing with QBs, if they are doing bad you have no idea if they are making terrible reads, or if their WRs are blanketed...

Yeah volleyball isn't on as much as I would like, but its better than depending solely on ESPN. Generally CSTV will do the matches live and give you the whole match. ESPN's broadcast are always edited to fit with an hour and a half time frame. This has been discussed hundreds of times. Still the coverage is better than it used to be even just 4 years ago, with the addition of CSTV and being able to subscribe to more FoxSports channels. As for the football, well it is easier to fit a volleyball court with 12 players within a camera shot than a hundred yd football field with 22. With that being said I would like to see more overhead shots as the play is going, like you said so you can see the holes developing, who is being covered, etc. When I used to play that NCAA football game, thats how I played the game...using the overhead camera angle...was much more fun that way.

^ agreed. I always use overhead and it blows my mind that anybody doesnt play with it...
I would honestly rather watch a real life version of "overhead" than the current view... Hopefully in the future it will all be internet / interactive TV and you will be able to select your own views...

How do you get CSS on satellite?

Is CSS still doing a couple of Vols matches per season? i've seen nothing from either UT or CSS to indicate that happening this season.

No, because CSS has Friday night blocked off for high school football and Sundays are blocked off for college football replays.
