Here. Here. I'll be cheering her on whereever she goes... however, I'll cheer her on more in Hawaii. I'm a clever cheerer too... not like these Nevada Wolfpack fans: I thought the Lunatics were Volunteer fans?

I'm not sure if anyone else has been keeping up with the buzz, but I love it that the nation's top volleyball recruit has refused to commit until this point. I wish more prep players would follow in her footsteps and wait to make your commitments. Not only is it exciting for fans to speculate and have a visitor coming to your school (I had a blast with it last weekend), but it keeps the coaches on their toes in trying to land the best recruits. Thanks for taking your time. Best of luck to you, Alix in making this decision! Um, it's not like this hasn't happened before. Last year, Megan Hodge, the No. 1 recruit in the country, took until the late signing period to committ to Penn State. Where was the congratulatory post for Hodge?

DITTO! Hey IB, I seriously doubt that she will end up on Oahu! You still in denial over Barboza's snubbing of your 49ers? Your doubts mean little to us Beachman. I can assure you of one thing though, If Klineman decides on Stanford, or any School other than Hawai'i....you won't hear any of us b#@$ about it for months on end. Barboza was never recruited by Gimmillaro. There were atleast 6 D-I recruits that played in the local Moore league that year and not one of them did he recruit. He likes those foreigners who have a hard time communicating.

It was very difficult for her to say no, considering all the hometown ties Barboza had with the university. I don't know about any other player you are referring to, however.

"Kudos to Alix Klineman" Wow your nose is brown IB. Your innuendo to the contrary notwithsanding, IB has been spending a lot of time on the beaches of beautiful Hawaii, making them safer for tourists, as part of a project recently profiled in the New York Times. Hence the brown nose. Disirregardless, Alix will join the wonderful program at Stanford. I may be naive, but I don't think it's a sure thing that she is going to Stanford. Why would she be making all these recruiting trips to Hawaii and Texas if she already made up her mind.

Just ask CB and her parents if BG was recruiting her. I believe you'll get a yes. Did CB take some recruiting trips? Yes. She didn't need to take a recruiting trip to CSLB because she lived down the street from the campus. Many people except the other schools recruiting her knew where she was going to end up. The paralell here is that CB's and AK's parents are involved in the educational field, so the educational part of the equation is going to mean a lot. I'll leave it at that.

Hey, if Alix wants to study anything with weather/oceans/rocks or related sciences, Hawaii is the place to be... we put those Stanford fools in their place all the time in those fields.

If I were Alix, or an athlete who had even the remotest idea what someone like Alix is going through, I wouldn't judge a program based on a visit to one of their matches, even if it is Hawaii at the SSC, which incidentally, has been getting less fans than usual. Didn't it used to be near 8,000s during the heydays in the Ljungquist/Ah Mow era to 7,000s in the Kim/Lily era to now 6,000s in the post-Kim era? I say post-Kim era because there has yet to emerge a superstar of Kim proportions. Perhaps Alix is THE ONE?

"Disirregardless" ? Publius, I hope you're just a Stanford fan and not an alumnus. ;D Merely a Stanford insider joke: Many people use the non-word "irregardless" when they mean "regardless." As a subtle protest, one of my law school professors there (Tony Amsterdam, who argued and won Furman v. Georgia, briefly rendering the death sentence unconstitutional), coined the tautological word "disirregardless," which seems appropriate to use every now and then.
