Dayton wins game 1 30 - 28, but Purdue has good lead in game 2.
Recall that UD beat Arizona last weekend, so they have potential to play well. One of my favorite players not on Purdue or UNI is UD's Faye Barhorst. She's bona fide, and has trained with the A2 team, ISTR

Purdue wins game 2 30 - 21
Looks like Purdue ran a 5-1 in game 1, and went to the 6-2 in game 2

Barhorst is quite good. Enjoyed watching her last year when Dayton came to Florida for a tournament.

Faye autographed my ball last spring at the Palos Courts tournament. I met her folks. Nice people.

What's going on in game 3. Who's playing well? I've got it on gametracker, but it is hard to tell. Is Purdue struggling or Dayton playing really well?

Purdue wins game 3 30 - 25
Scored the last 6 points of the game with Dildine serving.
I'm guessing its pretty good quality volleyball on both sides.

Note that is just my guess, not watching nor listening. But neither team is making a lot of errors, and, as I said, Dayton is a nice team.

when i was still living on the east coast, i got to see Barhorst as a freshman. she (along with Marisa Main, who was also a frosh and playing for Xavier at that point) were two of the more exciting players in the A-10. Barhorst was the freshman of the year in the conference, and Main was the only freshman to make the A-10 first team. could you imagine the accolades Barhorst might be getting if, like Main, she had been scooped up by a team with a little more national prominence?

Game 4 looks to be a struggle for Purdue. They're behind 21-11 and hitting -.100.
When this is over I want to hear from someone who saw it. It sounds like an exciting match.

13 hitting errors for Purdue in game 4 (a lot of UD blocks). Miller got bottled up really bad (7 errors in games 3 and 4 by my count - she won't do that in 4 matches, much less one game, usually)
Fortunately, Sami Mader is her usual, steady, reliable self as Purdue wins game 5 15 - 11

Outside of game 4, Purdue hits .405 for the match.
Well, if you are going to have lots of hitting errors, better to put them all in one game, I guess. 16 errors in games 1,2,3 and 5. 13 errors in game 4.
