No doubt thst Hawaii is far the superior team- much stronger firepower. They just seem to lack motivation. I don't really blame them. After playing all those top teams, it's hard to get up for this match. Plus they just lost their starting setter and OH.

Yes, poor passing. I now want the match to go to 4 games so that Mason will have more opportunity to break the ace record of 6. She just now tied it. I think the TV said that the ace record is 6 in a 3-game match.

What's so amazing is that Fairflied's tallest player is 5'11." Their MB is only 5'4". Their athleticism may be equal to or better than Hawaii's. Not that it's much better, but Lee (the 5'4" girl) is playing OH.

It seems hawaii was toying with Fairfield, like a cat with a mouse before the kill.

One thing for sure, hawaii still has passing woes.

Hawaii was lucky to have Sarah Mason tonight, that's for sure.
The passing was good. Thurlby did good FWIW Gregory was great when she got a good set Sanders needs to be replaced by Thomas.
I think the communication and passion is what's lacking most for this team.

Houston was kept in the backrow, and her passes still left much to be desired.

One thing for sure, hawaii still has passing woes. Agreed. But it's not just passing, it is ball control in general. I swear Fairfield didn't HIT one single ball in the 2nd game. Their kills were slop shots into the corners, tips over the block and free balls that were just not picked up at all ~ much less converted. That is the most telling problem. The problem is not at the net right now ... the net play doesn't matter if the ball control is going to give away soooo many points. Definitely hard to see such poor quality volleyball from Hawaii.
